AI Agents

An AI Agent answers your WhatsApp chats for you. You describe it in plain words, Blueticks writes its instructions and settings, and you decide which chats it answers, what it knows and which apps it can use. You can step in to any chat whenever you want.

Lessons: 3.1 Build an agent in about a minute · 3.2 One agent, four businesses · 3.3 Agent settings: the six that matter

Need an exact, fixed script instead (send X, wait for the reply, then send Y)? That’s the Flow builder.

Where to find it

In the web app, click AI Agents in the left menu. If your account also has flow bots, the item reads Agents 2.0, and a separate Agents item opens the flow builder.

Build an agent

  1. Open AI Agents (or Agents 2.0) and click New agent.
  2. On Build a new agent in 1 minute, describe what your agent should do, and for whom. You can also start from one of the suggestions.
  3. Send it. Blueticks writes the instructions and the settings for you.
  4. Read them over. To change something, ask in the chat (Tell me what to change…).
  5. Click Turn it on. The card changes to Live on WhatsApp.

New agents are created paused, and the agents list shows them as Paused. Nothing goes out until you turn yours on.

To edit by hand, switch the view to Form. The switch offers Chat, Form or Both side by side. When you change settings, click Save changes. The button shows Saved.

Who it answers (Triggers)

Under Triggers:

  • Selected chats (allow list) is the default: the agent answers only the chats you add.
  • All chats except (block list) answers everyone except the chats you block.
  • Tick Respond to new incoming chats to answer people who message you for the first time.

Where it can send

Under Allow sending messages to, the default is The same chats it’s triggered in (receive & respond). To let it send to other chats, choose Selected chats (allow list) or All chats except (block list).

Time triggers

A time trigger wakes the agent on a schedule, for example to send you the day’s list every morning.

  1. Save the agent first, then reopen it. Time triggers appear once the agent is saved.
  2. Under Time triggers, click Add time trigger.
  3. Pick Hourly, Daily, Weekly or Monthly. Daily starts at 09:00.
  4. Describe the task, and pick the Chat where the result goes. To send it somewhere else, use Send result to (optional).

Each time trigger has a Run now button so you can try it.

Take over a chat

Under Human takeover, Allow human takeover and Take over automatically when I write in the chat are both on from the start. Write in a chat yourself and the agent goes quiet in that chat.

When you take over, the agent stays quiet in that chat until you hand it back: type continue in your operator chat, or open Conversations and release the chat. Takeover has no timer.

Pick an Operator chat to get the agent’s notices and questions.

What it knows (Knowledge)

Paste your prices and policies into Knowledge (optional), or click Upload to add files, such as a product catalog. Tick Answer only from the knowledge above to keep the agent on script.

What it can use (Integrations)

Under Integrations (MCP), click + Add integration and pick an app, such as Google Calendar, Google Sheets or Gmail. Connect it, then tick the tools the agent may use. Every tool starts off, so the agent can only use the tools you tick.

Credits

Agent runs use credits from your account’s shared credit balance. See Credits & Usage for your balance and how to add credits.

My agent isn’t replying

Check these in order:

  1. Is it turned on? New agents start paused, and the agents list shows Paused. Open the agent and click Turn it on.
  2. Is the chat in its triggers? With the default Selected chats (allow list), the agent ignores any chat you haven’t added. For people writing for the first time, tick Respond to new incoming chats. See Who it answers.
  3. Did you write in the chat yourself? That takes the chat over, and the agent stays quiet there. Type continue in your operator chat, or release the chat on Conversations.
  4. Are you out of credits? The app shows Low Credits and then Out of Credits. When you’re out, your agents may stop working until you add credits or your monthly credits renew. See Credits & Usage.
  5. Is WhatsApp connected? Agents reply through your WhatsApp connection. Look at the status chip at the top of the app. With WhatsApp Web Only, WhatsApp Web must be open in Chrome. See WhatsApp Connections.
