Engine Management
Manage your WhatsApp session engines and browser connections to ensure reliable message delivery.
Overview
Blueticks uses different types of “engines” to connect to WhatsApp and send messages. Understanding and managing these engines is crucial for optimal performance and ensuring your messages are delivered reliably.
Understanding Engine Types
Blueticks supports two main types of WhatsApp connection engines:
WhatsApp Gateway (Offline Engine)
Features:
- Offline sender that works even when your computer is off
- Perfect for automated messaging and scheduled campaigns
- Pro Plan Only - This engine type requires a Pro subscription
- Server-based connection that maintains WhatsApp session independently
Best for:
- Scheduled messages that need to be sent when you’re away
- Automated campaigns and marketing messages
- Business operations that require 24/7 messaging capability
- Users who don’t want to keep their computer running constantly
WhatsApp Web Extension (Browser Engine)
Features:
- Browser extension that works with WhatsApp Web
- Requires WhatsApp Web to be open in your browser
- Works as long as your computer is on and WhatsApp is running
- Free to use with the Chrome extension
- No limits - you can install on multiple devices/browsers
Important: All extensions must use the same WhatsApp phone number. Using different phone numbers with the same Blueticks account will cause unpredictable message delivery.
Best for:
- Personal use and manual message management
- Users who are frequently at their computer
- Same WhatsApp number across multiple devices (work computer, personal laptop, etc.)
- Testing and development purposes
- Cost-conscious users who don’t need offline capabilities
Download the Extension: Get the Blueticks Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store.

Connection Troubleshooting
If an engine shows “Needs Attention”:
- Check WhatsApp Connection: Ensure your phone has internet connectivity
- Restart Engine: Use the restart action to reinitialize the connection
- Scan New QR Code: Generate and scan a fresh QR code
- Check Browser: For web extensions, ensure WhatsApp Web is open and active
Important: One Phone Number Per Account
⚠️ Critical Warning: Blueticks is designed to work with one WhatsApp phone number per account.
Why This Matters
If you use multiple browser extensions or engines with different WhatsApp phone numbers on the same Blueticks account:
- Messages may be sent from any connected number unpredictably
- You cannot control which phone number will send a specific message
- This can cause confusion for recipients and damage your communication
Recommended Setup
For Multiple WhatsApp Numbers:
- Create separate Blueticks accounts for each WhatsApp phone number
- Use different browser profiles or devices for each account
- This ensures reliable message delivery and prevents conflicts
For Same WhatsApp Number:
- You can safely use multiple browser extensions across different devices
- All extensions should connect to the same WhatsApp phone number
- This allows you to manage messages from multiple locations
Best Practices
For Gateway Engines (Pro Plan)
- Monitor connection status regularly
- Keep your mobile WhatsApp updated
- Ensure stable internet connection when setting up
- Use for critical scheduled messages and campaigns
For Browser Extensions
- Keep WhatsApp Web tab open and active
- Don’t close your browser if you have scheduled messages
- Always use the same WhatsApp phone number across all extensions
- Consider upgrading to Pro Plan for offline capabilities
- Good for manual message management and testing
Pro Plan Benefits
Upgrading to the Pro Plan unlocks:
- Offline Gateway Engine: One server-based engine that sends messages even when your computer is off
- 24/7 Message Delivery: Reliable connection that doesn’t depend on your browser being open
- Priority Support: Faster resolution of connection issues
- Advanced Features: Access to all Blueticks premium features
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use both engine types simultaneously? A: Yes, you can use browser extensions alongside a gateway engine. However, you can only have one offline gateway engine per account (Pro Plan required), while browser extensions have no limit.
Q: What happens if my gateway engine disconnects? A: The system will attempt to reconnect automatically. You may need to scan a new QR code if the reconnection fails.
Q: How many engines can I have? A: You can have one offline gateway engine per account (Pro Plan required) and unlimited browser extensions. Each browser extension works independently on different devices or browser profiles.
Q: Can I use multiple WhatsApp phone numbers with the same Blueticks account? A: No, this is not recommended and will cause issues. Each Blueticks account should only be used with one WhatsApp phone number. If you need to manage multiple WhatsApp numbers, create separate Blueticks accounts for each number.
Q: Is my data secure with gateway engines? A: Yes, all connections are encrypted and secure. Blueticks follows strict security protocols to protect your data.
