Tasks

Blueticks Tasks transforms WhatsApp into a task management system, helping you organize action items and follow-ups directly from your conversations.

Accessing Tasks

There are two ways to access your Blueticks tasks:

  1. From WhatsApp Web: Click the tasks icon in the header of any chat (indicated by the red arrow in the image below)

  2. From the Blueticks Web App: Visit https://app.blueticks.co/tasks (opens in a new tab) to access your tasks directly from any browser, even without opening WhatsApp Web.

The web app provides additional functionality for managing tasks across all your conversations in one centralized dashboard.

Task Management Interface

The Blueticks task management panel gives you a powerful Kanban-style board to organize your tasks:

The task board includes:

  • Kanban columns for organizing workflow (New tasks, Backlog)
  • Task cards with status indicators (Working on it, Done)
  • Due dates for each task
  • Priority levels (High, Medium, Low)
  • Complexity indicators
  • Chat association for each task
  • Add new item functionality within each column

How to Use Tasks

Creating a Task from a Message

  1. In any WhatsApp conversation, hover over a message
  2. Click the Blueticks task icon that appears (or right-click and select "Create Task")
  3. In the task creation dialog:
    • The message content will be automatically added as the task description
    • Set a due date/time
    • Assign a priority (Low, Medium, High)
    • Set complexity if needed
    • Add any additional notes
  4. Click "Create Task" to save

Creating a New Task Board

  1. Click the Tasks button in the header of any chat
  2. If no board exists yet, you'll see "This chat not have board yet"
  3. Click "Create Tasks Board" to set up a new Kanban board for this chat

Managing Your Tasks

  1. Access your task board by clicking the Tasks button in the chat header, or go directly to https://app.blueticks.co/tasks (opens in a new tab)
  2. Organize tasks using the board view:
    • Create new task groups/columns as needed
    • Drag and drop tasks between columns
    • Check the box to mark tasks as complete
    • Filter by person, complexity, or priority
  3. Use the board tabs to switch between different projects or chats
  4. Click on any task to edit its details
  5. Use the "+" button to add new tasks directly from the board

Advanced Features

  • Activity View: Click "Activity" to see a timeline of all task changes
  • Share Board: Collaborate with others by sharing your task board
  • New Group: Create logical groupings for different types of tasks
  • Search: Find specific tasks using the search field
  • Columns Management: Customize columns to match your workflow

Best Practices

  • Be Specific: Create clear, actionable task descriptions
  • Use Columns Effectively: Set up columns that reflect your workflow stages
  • Set Realistic Deadlines: Assign practical due dates to ensure follow-through
  • Regular Review: Check your task board daily to stay on top of priorities
  • Prioritize Visually: Use the High/Medium/Low priorities to focus attention
